An animated film featuring a conversation between students and teachers on environment conservation was launched in the national capital on Monday to urge children to preserve and protect nature. The 60-minute film, "Our Environment - Let Us Protect It", has been developed by Bharatiya Agro Industries Foundation (BAIF), an NGO, in partnership with Coca-Cola India. Union Minister for Agriculture Sharad Pawar launched the English version of the film while Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit unveiled the Hindi version. It will also be available in Marathi.
The film, with important facts on environmental pollution and ways to prevent it, will be shown by Coca-Cola in more than 5,000 schools in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh."This initiative is focused on children because the future leaders need to be educated to preserve the environment. If we succeed in making them understand its importance, they will easily convince their parents too," said Narayan G. Hegde, president BAIF Development and Research Foundation.
